Client site
Jantzen Fuel Depot + Cascade Paddle Boards
A floating fuel dock on the Columbia River, and the paddle board rentals beside it, now easy to find and trust.

The problem
The old site had a pixelated hero, body text that didn't answer boaters' questions, and a map pin dropped in the middle of the river instead of at the dock.
What I built
- One site for two businesses that share a dock: marine fuel at / and Cascade Paddle Boards rentals at /rentals.
- Live open, closed, and on-call status from seasonal hours the owners edit themselves.
- Directions by land and by water, with the map pin at the dock, plus a sticky call bar on phones.
- Fourteen SEO and AEO guide pages under /rentals and /fuel, chosen from a 16-page plan ranked in three tiers by search intent, competition, and which facts the owners had confirmed.
- Each guide is one typed file in a content registry, rendered by one template with WebPage, breadcrumb, and FAQ structured data, so search and answer engines can quote the dock correctly and a new page is a content change.
- Paddle board bookings link out to Square Appointments, which the owners already run for the calendar and payments. An embedded Square widget or a deeper integration can replace the link when the owners want one.
- Next phase, planned for early 2027: one email list shared by fuel and rentals, built from past Square renters and a signup form on the site.
The interesting decision
The owners edit their own hours
Hours change with the season. A small password-protected editor lets the owners update them directly, so the site stays accurate without a CMS.
